Jameis Winston looked abysmal on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. The Saints' quarterback completed 11 passes out of 22 attempts, for a measly 111 yards, no touchdowns and (gasp!) two interceptions. A little-known number that not many people will focus on his the fact that of his 28 dropbacks during the game, Winston was pressured 18 times. An unconscionable 64% pressure rate, which was also the highest of Winston's entire NFL career. So while Jameis wasn't great on Sunday, the offensive line did him exactly zero favors and should shoulder a big part of the blame for the Saints'...

The heck was that?

I mean seriously Saints, if you're going to play like that versus the Carolina Panthers then maybe don't do it after getting our hopes up a week before that you could possibly be a serious contender in the NFC?!

Ok, ok, it's just week 2. Long way to go. But boy, that wasn't fun. And obviously things were going against us even before the game started: the injuries continue to pile up, eight coaches were out due to COVID protocol, and let's not forget the team has not actually been home in New Orleans for nearly a month now. We're used to the Saints somehow always...

This had to be one of the oddest fantasy football weekends in a very long time. Only 11 non-quarterback players managed to crack 20 points in half point per reception leagues. The quarterbacks this week simply threw the ball to odd players, leading to some scores from deeper plays that hardly no one would start outside of a 14+ team league. A whopping 20 quarterbacks scored 15 or more points in week two. Only around 20 must-start players scored 15 or more fantasy points out of the 55 total players to hit this mark. Yes, guys like Henry Ruggs had a good day but how many people played him...

The opening line in Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities may accurately described the feeling of New Orleans Saints fans worldwide. After the highest of highs in Week 1's 38-3 domination of the Green Bay Packers, that was followed up by the Saints getting a taste of their own medicine. The Carolina Panthers dismantled the Saints 26-7 in a game that was surprisingly that close. Here are a few takeaways I had from the game.

Coaching Matters

While it may be easy to point out the players who were not on the field Sunday, equally important were the coaches who were not present due to...

NEW ORLEANS - In two weeks, the Saints have gone from sky high to the lowest of lows. Welcome to the 2021 football season.

The Saints didn't pressure Sam Darnold nearly enough in the first half. Darnold's numbers were crazy good because he had time.

Darnold in the first half: 16-26, 216 yards, 2 TD's QBR: 145

For reference, these are his numbers for the second half.

Darnold in the second half: 10-18, 89 yards, 1 INT, QBR: 47.9

The Saints defense made adjustments and got better, but they couldn't make up ground because...

The offense was a train wreck.

In particular, their ability to...

The Green Bay Packers host the Detroit Lions tonight in the not yet frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. Green Bay is coming off the most thorough dismantling imaginable at the hands of New Orleans last week, while Detroit nearly pulled off and upset against the Niners after getting crushed in the first half. Can Jared Goff and the Lions pull off the upset? Will Aaron Rodgers and the Packers secure their first win of the season? Let's tune in and find out!

Ummm, what was that? From dominating a Super Bowl contender in Week 1 to laying an egg against a team that has been mediocre (at best) the past half decade.

Maybe it's best to just look forward, huh?

This week, the Saints are back on the road against a New England team that thoroughly trounced the Jets on Sunday. For the Patriots, rookie quarterback Mac Jones will get his third NFL start. Meanwhile, Jameis Winston and the New Orleans offense will try to get back to Week 1 form against a stingy defense that has allowed the seventh-least total yards in the early going.

Among some of the...

In an abysmal performance rarely seen in the fifteen years with Sean Payton at head coach, the New Orleans Saints were soundly beaten, 26-7, by the Carolina Panthers.

New Orleans was pummeled along the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. The absence of six assistant coaches crippled any game-time adjustments. An incredible list of talented players were unavailable because of injuries.

The onetime vaunted depth of this team came up short in a listless performance by the entire squad.

Jameis Winston, under siege all afternoon, completed just 50% of his throws and committed two...
